Wave Absorption
Introduction
Molybdenum disulfide is currently the best absorption materials, even it is better than tungsten disulfide.
Wave Absorption Material
Wave absorbing material specifically refers to a kind of materials which can absorb electromagnetic wave that project onto its surface, thereby reducing the incident of electromagnetic. In engineering applications, requiring such material with characteristics of light weight, thermostability, moisture-proof, corrosion resistance and high absorption frequency. Generally it is composed of a base material and a loss compounded media, the current research of such material is thin, light, wide, strong and good environmental stability. Routine use are stealth aircraft and the phone shell.
Manufacturing Processes
Absorbing material forming process is mainly divided into coating type and structure type. Coated is to mix the absorption and adhesive material and applied to the target surface, such as ferrite absorbing material, metal powder absorbing material, polycrystalline iron fiber absorbing materials. Structure type is that absorbent dispersed in composite structural materialsof special fiber-reinforced structural. Molybdenum disulfide belongs to the latter. MOS2 have the necessary performance of absorbing materials, as well as the dynamic compressive properties of inorganic fullerene structure. Its compression values can be achieved 25GPa, it is the toughest molecular cage-like structure. The molecular structure of the Carbon-based structure would collapse directly converted into other types of diamond structure under the 25GPa or lower pressure.
Therefore, it is more suitable as absorbing material, which is able to withstand more demanding load conditions, and is by far the best choice.
