What Is ZHM alloy(Zirconium Hafnium Molybdenum)?

Zirconium Hafnium Molybdenum alloy, the higher content of zirconium, hafnium, molybdenum and carbon and molybdenum alloy composition. Mass percentage of each component is zirconium 0.4 to 0.7, 1.2 to 2.1 hafnium, 0.15 to 0.27 carbon. A new molybdenum alloy, molybdenum alloy marked ZHM. Their room temperature tensile strength higher than TZM molybdenum alloy of approximately 40% to 50%, which is the highest intensity molybdenum alloy. After the powder sintered at 1200 ℃ ingot forging, the deformation is 50% to 75% or more, as an intermediate 8h1200 ℃ hydrogen annealing. Different processing and heat treatment of the alloy final performance greatly. This alloy is still in the development stage, mainly by ingot processed into plate material, as a powder superalloys isothermal forging dies.


ZHM alloy (Mo zirconium and hafnium-carbon alloy) and MHC alloys (molybdenum hafnium-carbon alloy) compared as follows:

ZHM alloy has better performance than MHC molybdenum alloy. Alloys and processing degree of deformation and heat treatment conditions have a great relationship. Such as:

1.MHC molybdenum alloy lines, Mo-1Hf-0.05C alloy, spindles made ​​of powder metallurgy, forging deformation capacity by 60%, at a temperature of 950 ~ 1250 ℃ tensile strength to be higher than TZM 20%, the direction of elongation of 1% to 10%.

2.ZHM molybdenum alloys have ZHM4 (Mo-1.2Hf-0.4Zr-0.15C); ZHM6 (Mo-1.5Hf-0.5Zr-0.19C); ZHM7 (Mo-1.8Hf-0.6Zr-0.23C); ZHM8 (M-2.1Hf-0.7Zr-0.27C) four ingredients alloys. These alloys have excellent processing properties, good high temperature strength and low temperature ductility.
